As has now been widely reported in the world press, HM Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral Castle Scotland on Thurs 8th Sept after a 70-year reign as monarch of the United Kingdom. In the days following a series of commemorations have taken place, including the Queen being moved from Balmoral to St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. On Tues 13th Sept the late Queen accompanied by her daughter the Princess Royal Travelled to Edinburgh Airport whereby the coffin was transferred to a waiting RAF C-17A Globemaster. This flight marked the final time that HM Queen Elizabeth would be in Scotland. After being flown to RAF Northolt the late Queen was then received at Buckingham Palace by her eldest son and now King Charles the 3rd, she will remain at Buckingham Palace for a short period before making the journey to Westminster abbey to lie in state prior to the state funeral planned for Mon 19th Sept 2022.
