Space for Giants is increasingly focused on finding new ways for Africa's governments to fund the conservation of their protected areas, and to do so in ways that bring benefits to people as well as environments. Recently, we announced two new Conservation Investment Initiatives, modeled on our pilot in Uganda that is on course to bring $60m of new conservation-compatible investment - mostly eco-touirsm - to five national parks.
Watch Noureddin Bongo, Space for Giants' representative in Gabon, explain how the window for similar investment to help protect elephants and their habitats there is open, but not forever.
Our Working Paper, 'Building A Wildlife Economy', explains the huge opportunity tourism presents for Africa's governments and people to benefit far more than they currently do from their national parks. Learn more at spaceforgiants.org/wildlifeeconomy
