Multiphenotypic entity Binder syndrome has rarely been diagnosed during the prenatal period.
I come across a case at 24 weeks of gestation during the routine second-trimester scan. The ultrasound exam revealed fetal midface abnormalities compatible with Binder phenotype. 2D ultrasound identified absence of nasal spine, creating a 'flat profile 'and depressed nasal bridge. Short nasal and columella formation, flat nasolabial angle and perialar flattering. 3D ultrasound in rendering mode enhanced visualization of the abnormal facies.
some authors consider Binder syndrome as a phenotype of chondrodysplasia punctata.
