So. When I went to Iraq one of the fun things to do was go to Samarra - and climb the ancient Spire, or the Malwiya Tower minaret,.. a spiralling cone 52 meters high and 33 meters wide with a spiral ramp. And no handrails. And you have to be out by 5 pm because apparently Al Qaeda in Iraq hangs out on the mosque's courtyard below. Fun Fact.
