Hiked to the Mt. Fremont Lookout Tower and then on to the 2nd Burrough before looping back to the Paradise trailhead. We totaled 9.44 miles and 2,351 of elevation gained. We had some interesting weather. We started out with drizzling rain, which turned into slightly heavier rain accompanied by high winds at times. My wife was less than thrilled as you can see in the video. We arrived at the lookout tower and looked out and saw absolutely nothing, visibility was maybe 20-30 feet. The tower was locked up so we hid from the wind where we could and snacked a bit before heading back and up towards the 2nd Burrough. We had much better weather once we got off the Fremont Tower trail however Rainier was hidden by clouds and we still hadn't seen her. We ended up scoring seats on the only bench on top of 2nd Burrough and waited there for about 2 hours while Mt Rainier teased us endlessly. Really just when we were about to give up on ever seeing the mountain she finally poked out from behind the clouds as seen.
