Welcome back to Day 2.2 it was a long day so we ended with the Myvatn Nature Baths and Godafoss waterfall, later we walked back into Akureyri to find a local favorite, Moe's food trailer known for its fish & chips, so good I forgot to take pictures.
Our first stop is Myvtan Nature Baths, or the Blue Lagoon of the North it was beautiful and a great deal at around 5700 ISK or about $45 US. You can prepay for drinks and they will punch your wristband or you can put a credit card on file. The beautiful scenery here is like being in a cloud, and the water makes your skin so soft, but it does seem to strip your hair of all its strength. So do use the conditioner they have on the way out and it makes that so much better.
There is also a Natural Steam bath with stream straight from the vents, it was so hot we could not stay in there long and there was no one in there the entire time we were there, most walked in and right back out it was that hot. The hot pot closest to the entrance is at 41* C which is 105*F
is very warm and has several signs asking not to stay in too long.
The main lagoon is warmer by the bar which seems to be where the water enters the lagoon and it gets cooler, well, less hot the farther out you walk. There are seats along the edge and in some areas a ring of seats and along the rocks so lots of seating.

Our next stop is Godafoss waterfall, the "waterfall of the Gods" . A super easy trail takes you from the parking lot to the West side, but a short walk across a footbridge will take you to the West side, where you can go down and get much closer. The parking lot is paved and your can see from Route 1.
Back in Akureyri we went looking for Moe's Food, or Moe's food truck with great reviews and loved buy locals we just had to find it. It was tasty, just watch the local birds if you decide to sit down and eat in the square.
