We have been deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen and offer our condolences to the royal family at this difficult time. She was an inspirational head of state who earned global love and respect throughout her reign of over seven decades.
The Queen had a great love of the countryside and was a great supporter of land-based industries, appreciating both rural tradition and progressive technology. This was very evident throughout a visit by The Queen to our campus in 2010 when she officially opened Centrepoint, our learning resource centre, toured our teaching and learning facilities and met students and staff.
Her radiant smile and extensive knowledge of all things equine will be particularly remembered by students at our equestrian centre, who had painted the internal structure of bones and muscles on the shining coat of one of our horses. Keenly interested, The Queen remarked: “You are lucky. I wouldn’t have been allowed to do that!”
