Tolkien is an upcoming biographical drama film directed by Dome Karukoski and written by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford. It is about the English professor, philologist, and writer J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, as well as notable academic works. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, and Derek Jacobi. Tolkien will be Fox Searchlight Pictures' first film to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures following its acquisition by the Walt Disney Company on March 20, 2019.
Synopsis :
Tolkien explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school.
