New Zealand | Arthur’s pass. New Zealand, as many people will know, it is known for its beautiful and wild nature in all different sizes and shapes. But if you are looking for moderate day walk to a peak with some stunning views, you should visit Arthur’s pass. Arthur’s pass is located between Christchurch in the east and Greymouth in the west. It is tucked away between high (sometimes) snowcapped mountains in the Southern Alps of the South Island of New Zealand. Arthur’s pass provides a basis to explore the Arthur's Pass National Park and do some great day walks like the Avalanche Peak, Devil's Punchbowl Fall. Even getting to Arthur's Pass is a journey on its own if you take the TranzAlpine Scenic train that winds through the wild landscape of New Zealand.
In total, we spend about three days and to nights here. This is absolutely the minimum as the weather can be bad and change rapidly. We had, for example, stay indoors one day due to torrential rain and beside walking, there is little else to do. We took the TranzAlpine Scenic train to Arthur’s pass. We stayed in the Arthurs Pass Motel and Lodge which is really a good place to stay. Due to unforeseen circumstances (closed roads, torrential rain etc.) we had to take a bus (Atomic Shuttles) back to Christchurch. Cheaper then the train but also a beautiful route
The song is Firelight by Hemlock via music vine.
