Focal Pancreatitis || Ultrasound || CT || Case 196

Clinical Features:
A 13 years old boy came with
- Severe upper abdominal pain.
- High serum amylase & lipase.

Ultrasound Features:
- Echogenic thick sludge or calculi within the gallbladder lumen.
- Irregular focal hypoechoic enlargement of the pancreatic head mimicking mass with surrounding fat stranding, parenchymal echogenic calcifications & dilated main pancreatic duct.

Remember:
Correlation with duration of symptoms & biochemical findings may help differentiate between pancreatic mass & focal pancreatitis especially when the patient comes with obstructive features.
