Story line:
" I went into the hut, threw the wood onto the floor, and then closed the door tightly with a lock, additionally bolting it. My winter coat was covered in snow and covered with a thin layer of ice. There was severe frost and snowfall outside, but I was forced to chop some wood in reserve, as the radio was broadcasting an impending snow storm. A similar storm of the same magnitude had not occurred in the last 80 years, so it was necessary to prepare for it thoroughly. My hut was built from wide and strong timber, it was very durable and retained heat well, this made me happy. Under the hut there was a cellar, which could be reached down the stairs by opening a door in the floor. In one part of the cellar I kept large stocks of food, both those that do not spoil for a long time, and those that have a shorter shelf life. Due to the fact that it was always cool there both in winter and summer, food could be stored there for a long time. The other part of the cellar served as a storage room, where I simply stored all the necessary things, such as batteries, matches, kerosene, firewood, and other necessary things. These supplies would be enough for me to live here completely independently for about six months. I was calm, since the approaching storm was forecast to last about three to four days. A blizzard was raging outside the window, and it was noticeable that it was getting stronger. The branches of the pine trees opposite the house were leaning down from the strong howling wind. It was a little scary outside the hut, but inside the hut I felt comfortable and safe. The cat Lussy was also calm, it was clear that she liked it here. She almost always lay on the stove and warmed herself, sometimes taking breaks for sleep and mealtimes. I hung my coat on a coat rack and placed my boots near the fireplace to dry thoroughly. Then I collapsed on the bed, as I really wanted to rest after a hard day of chopping wood. I lay there and just looked at the fire in the fireplace, which was burning with a bright yellow flame and making the pleasant sounds of crackling wood. Silence, calm and relaxation, I liked it. After a while, I didn’t even notice how sweetly I dozed off. "
