At least seven people died on Monday morning when a bus crashed into a tanker truck on a highway in northeastern Brazil.
A bus belonging to the operator Transbrasiliana was traveling along a highway in the state of Piaui at around 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
An official record states the bus was carrying five passengers, but local news site Globo reported that there could be more. Some drivers are known to take more passengers without informing the bus company.
The bus driver allegedly tried to overtake a vehicle but did not notice a tanker truck was coming in the opposite lane.
The two vehicles were engulfed in flames after an explosion took place. The accident also left three people, including a 5-year-old child, injured.
