At the end of October, 2012, the sailing ship Bounty was scheduled to sail from Connecticut to Florida. However, there was one major obstacle in her way: Superstorm Sandy. The decision to sail was up to the captain. They did not have to sail through the storm. They could have waited. But the captain wanted to test his mettle, and decided to risk the ship, his life, and the lives of his crew. The Bounty sank 120 miles off the coast of North Carolina. Two people were killed in the incident, including the captain himself.
