Boston doctors share tips on speaking to children about mass shootings
Children across the country are processing a range of emotions following the mass shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas and continue to confront traumatic events related to gun violence. Dr. Dan Dickstein, chair of child and adolescent psychiatry at McLean Hospital, and Dr. Gene Beresin, executive director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds, joined Sue O'Connell to talk about the emotional toll on children and how parents and guardians can support them.
