My HP Deskjet 820CSE running in action from the top view!
This is a very old Printer that came out sometime after Windows 98 was introduced!
This Printer has Tray Arms, which hold the Paper in place while it's printing, then releases the Paper onto the Tray afterwards.
The Cartridges it takes are 41 Tri-Color & 45 Black.
No XL Version of the 41 nor 45 Cartridges are available.
During the run of the Printer in action, I do apologize about the Ink fading, plus blank Papers & whatnot 'cause of how old the Cartridges in there are or whatever the cause is, but however, seeing the internals in action is worth seeing, as not much people record any of the old Printers in action nor even with the Lid open to see the Carriage going in action, not even a Printer in this Model, whether it's the 820CSE, 820CXI, or 890C.
The 850C, 855C, 870CSE, & 870CXI have the same internals as the 820CSE, 820CXI, & 890C, but have a different housing with a similar Tray & Tray Arms, plus also the Brown Tag, whatever it is, that attaches to the left side of the Carriage Vs. the White one used on the 820CSE, 820CXI, & 890C.
Alongside with the info, there was a Video that I remember watching of a Printer in this exact Model (Probably the 890C...), where it shows the Printer powering up, but then after the Carriage moves to the left really fast to test the Tray Arms out, the Printer explodes, which me, I would never do, especially as I like the Printers a whole lot & like seeing them run in action, especially as I've liked the Printers a whole lot, back when I was a Kid, especially when I've seen the old Printers for the very first time back then, starting with a Teacher, at an Elementary School that I used to go to, having the HP Deskjet 895CXI, then later having a 2ND Printer, being probably the HP Deskjet 960C.
As for the Printer Exploding Video, that Video is sadly now removed or set to "Private" by the User.
But here, with me having the HP Deskjet 820CSE, you can see the full powering up & it running in action.
The Port it uses to connect to the PC/Laptop only uses the Parallel Port (As the added smaller Port on a Printer like that to connect to the PC/Laptop easier via USB on one end of the Cord is on the 890C, which is positioned right above the Parallel Port. On the 850C, 855C, 870CSE, & 870CXI, the smaller Port is positioned right below the Parallel Port.).
The Driver for it, including the 820CXI, is compatible with Windows 98 & probably Windows XP as well, while for Windows Vista & Windows 7, it uses a downloaded Patch on the PC/Laptop for it to work, which can be downloaded here at [ Ссылка ].
Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, & Windows 11 are sadly incompatible for this Printer & the 820CXI.
In the now time, recently, I got the 890C on eBay at [ Ссылка ] to replace this Printer 'cause of the compatibility & is currently on the way & once it arrives, it should then be compatible with Windows 8, Windows 8.1, & Windows 10 (Probably Windows 11 as well...) via the smaller Port to USB.
However, now having the 890C that's currently on the way & I'll be having the same Printer as @cvgscote had back in 2008 at [ Ссылка ], which is really cool & plus then, once I have a chance to record my 890C after it arrives, you'll then see the full action of the Printer, starting from where the Service Station unlocks the Carriage to get ready to print!
The sounds on this Printer, including on the 820CXI, 850C, 855C, 870CSE, 870CXI, & 890C sound really nice, including the sounds of the Service Station as well!
Welp, with all that said, enjoy the Printer running in action!
