The Subaru WRX is pumped right up in the technology department.
The Subaru WRX has a direct injection 2.0-litre horizontally opposed 'boxer' four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual gearbox (up from five in the predecessor) and Subaru's trademark symmetrical all-wheel drive system. The price of the Subaru WRX was slashed by $1000 at launch (compared with the previous model) and there’s even an automatic (CVT) option - for the first time in 10 years. It's an eight-speed manual-mode paddle shifted Sport Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission.
Find out what leading Australian auto expert John Cadogan thinks of the new Subaru WRX in this wholly independent review.
