STORYLINE
With three months to go until the presidential election in Colombia, opinion polls are hardening against President Andres Pastrana for being too generous with guerrilla movements who have continued killing and kidnapping during the last three years of peace negotiations. He says that if elected he will end the 40 year war with the guerrillas by showing them the authority of the state.
