Deadly border clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan entered a second day on Monday, as the EU, US and regional power broker Moscow urged restraint. Four Azerbaijanis were killed between Sunday and Monday. Oil-rich Baku's defence ministry said that both sides were using artillery, mortars and tanks in the north part of their border. The two former Soviet republics have been locked in a simmering conflict for decades over Azerbaijan's region of Nagorny Karabakh, which was seized by an Armenian opposition group in a 1990s war that claimed 30,000 lives.
