In this video, we explore the final stop of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) spring tour of England. We explored places that played an important role in Jane Austen’s life and her novels. Chawton House was Jane Austen's brother's residence, and is now a museum exhibit. The Chawton Library is now the centre for the study of Early English Women's writing from 1600-1830. The centre opened in 2003 in Chawton House.
Jane and her mother and sister lived in Chawton Cottage from 1809 until May 1817. Currently the house is the Jane Austen Museum, where you can see what kind of clothes Jane Austen wore, her writing desk, and other artifacts important to the Austen family.
