If so, this banded rehab and mobility exercise can help give you some awareness of how to fix your knee from rotating or collapsing in. When this happens, it's called a valgus force on the knee and this can create issues within the MCL, Meniscus, and even the ACL. Improper squatting can also contribute to forces being pushed into the hip or lower back.
Completing this exercise, will teach you how to keep your foot on the ground, your knee from collapsing, and help you avoid some of these injuries. Sometimes it can be due to the hip position, pelvic position, weakness in the glute, or even poor foot contact. In any case, this exercise can help retrain your squat pattern.
