Do you hold back from celebrating so you don't "jinx" yourself?
Are you always "waiting for the other shoe to drop?"
Thinking this way is not useful. There is no benefit to keeping a negative mindset through good times.
This kind of mindset comes from fear and conditioning.
The feeling that something bad is going to happen is also a very common in trauma, the symptom is actually called "sense of impending doom".
While it might feel like you are protecting yourself from pain or a letdown by tempering your enthusiasm, the reality is that you prevent yourself from feeling happiness during good times because you are anticipating bad times.
Basically when things are bad, you feel badly, and when things are good, you also feel badly because you are waiting for more bad times. Ouch.
The key to happiness is to CELEBRATE every little thing going well every single day, and then make game plans to deal with the problems each day.
Literally squeeze every bit of joy out of every day.
The more joy you feel, the more good things you will notice and experience, rather than the opposite. Give it a try, and latch on the sense of impending joy.
