An occupied bed is a bed that a patient is currently using. It means that there are sheets and blankets on the bed, and the patient is either sitting or lying on it.
in this scenario, Nurse Eunice will demonstrate the easiest way to safely reposition the patient, change soiled linens, and replace the pillow case without shaking the pillow. If your resident's medical bed has side-rails, please utilize them.
You can add additional linens (ex: draw sheet, an incontinent pad, and/or a blanket) if allowed by your facility. Again, this is a simple way to change an occupied bed.
