Today we're going to show you our Top 3 Ways to Hook Bait Fish!

Fishing with live bait is a popular choice and unless you're short on time obtaining bait can almost be as fun as fishing it! But it's usually not until we get to the bait bucket and pull one out that we begin asking ourselves "How should I hook this?".

You could probably hook it any way you wanted to, and you'd stand a chance at catching something. But here at Fish Like Us, we're into targeting food species and catching BIG fish, and we know every detail paid attention to will only increase our chances of making that happen.

Since 10% of anglers catch 90% of the fish, we're certainly inclined to do what we can to increase our odds! These are the sort of tips and tricks we teach in our videos as well as our fishing lessons and kayak fishing charters.

How to hook live bait is an important piece of knowledge, and our video demonstrates three ways you can do this to catch fish! The bait has been prevalent this year and rumor has it red tides will increase bait numbers due to decreased predators. We don't know if these rumors are accurate, but we sure are glad to see the bait come back!

Where there's small fish, there are generally bigger ones lurking underneath. So aside from saving a few bucks at the bait shop, we gladly trade our time to find our bait. Today we have three types of live bait we'll be fishing: Mojarra, Atlantic croaker, and Pinfish. They are all great forms of 'soft bait' which you'll also hear referred to as 'butter bait.'

Because they're alive where you hook them can make a difference in their livelihood and action under the water. Sight is one of our Three S's of fishing, so this action is an important trait for your bait to have.
