Three wing foil start methods for different wings and different conditions.
Way less energy to get going than traditional sink start and will work in much lighter winds! Pump the wing throughout these steps if the wind is light so that the board stays at or near the surface. Wait for good wind while sitting on the board to save your energy. Pump the wing board and the hand wing at the same time to get onto foil in light winds.
Before switching to a low volume board you should be flying comfortably and be able to make it around on some or most jybes. These methods should work down to half your kg weight in Liters of volume. Footstraps can help with the intermediate position of one foot up and the other kneeling.
