Did HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves Season 1 finale answer all the questions? Not even close, but we got some answers and a lot to speculate about. The series continued with its trend of asking more questions than it answers, and adding to the list of mysteries. Mother’s pregnancy does come to an end when she gives birth to a flying serpent. It appears that the power behind the voice that people hear on Kepler-22b was responsible for what happened to her in the sim. In a dramatic sacrifice, Mother and Father decide it must be destroyed so they fly the lander into one of the pits.
Episode 10 also moved all the characters around to set up the beginning of season 2. The ending of the season finale tells us a lot about what to expect. Campion, Sue, Holly, Hunter, and Vita form one group. Sue is wounded after being shot by Paul, which means Campion will have to take on the role of protector. Paul ended the season alone, but he may reconnect with his father or the other Mithraic warriors and clergy that are still on the planet. Marcus has discovered that there is a new group of atheists that have landed on Kepler, and that they have an ark in orbit. Mother and Father crossed through in their attempt to destroy the serpent and are most likely in the tropical zone. Separated from the children, and possibly behind the electromagnetic field that protects that area.
In Raised by Wolves Season 2 there are so many questions that need to be explained. Who is the voice that Marcus and Paul hear? How is the voice connected to the person Mother thought was her creator in the sim? Who was the creature that looked human and was carrying the tarot cards? How many atheists are on the ark? What was going on with ghost Tally? How did Mouse come back after falling in the pit?
From Executive Producer, Ridley Scott, Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.
