Roots Studio digitizes the work and stories of traditional artists in India, Indonesia, Panama, and Jordan, among other regions. They license and produce exquisite prints, apparel and stationery from their indigenous material. Their vision is to create a prosperous village; livelihoods supported by craft skills that have been passed down from generation to generation. To counteract the flight of villagers to cities – where millions migrate annually to live in unincorporated slums – Roots Studio seeks to shift millions of dollars back to the villages.
