According to trading analysts, cross-border trading in Africa has been low mostly due to a lack of a common infrastructure to facilitate trade and settlement, as well as a lack of market liquidity. This is despite Africa's markets seeing some of the world's best-performing stocks and bonds in the past decade, and its exchanges making major strides in terms of new listings and products.
