A short slideshow of chevy OBS 88-94 dash/gauge panel, Parts I made to installed a AutoMeter InVision Universal Digital Dash in my 1993 Chevy OBS. It is a custom install, not plug and play. The gauge panel fit surprisingly well and was fairly straightforward to install. I don't know why AutoMeter doesn't offer a direct fit kit for 88-94 early OBS's. AutoMeter offers a InVision direct install unit for late OBS's 95-98. Did not cut or grind any part of dash core or bezel. I reused the factory gauge surround. The lens is a 88-90 has trip meter button low in the lens. So I could install the Autometer display setting button in the lens. I bought the lens from LMC. This video is to give people a little idea of what I did.
I have been looking at the AutoMeter InVision for awhile. Hopping AutoMeter would offer a unit for early OBS's and trying to figure out if I could fit it in the factory position. I have not seen any other 88-94 OBS's using the AutoMeter InVision Dash. The screen without the Autometer case fit like it made for 88-94 OBS's. I probably could have fitted the screen with just making a little ABS panel to mount it. But I wanted to custom fit it, fill the gaps around dash bezel and retain the factory gear position selector.
The Digital gauge panels is very high end and a really nicely made unit, pretty much what you would expect from Autometer. She got some weight to her!!!
