Continuing Education is either by the firm (annually called firm element ) or by FINRA (2nd anniversary of you being licensed and every 3 years after that called Regulatory Element). The new proposed rule is shortening that to annually and this is such a smart move by FINRA. 3 hours a year is not too much to ask to show that you have at least the minimum level of knowledge to keep your Series 7 registration active.
