European Golden Visa programs have never been so popular. Investors around the world are looking to give their families greater freedom and flexibility by acquiring a European passport. But with so many programs to choose from, which one is for you?
In today's video, we’ll first look at what Golden Visas actually are, and who they are designed for.
Next, we’ll take a quick look at the political context – Golden Visas are quite controversial these days, so it’s important to understand why and what is happening in the political landscape.
After that, we’ll explore what it means to have a second passport in Europe, before diving into the major Golden Visa programs in the EU. Those are Portugal, Italy, Spain and Greece – but we’ll also briefly talk about Malta, Cyprus and Hungary. There are other programs, such as Latvia or Bulgaria for example, but these are quite niche, so we will not focus on those in this video.
We’ll then go through a decision tree that aims to identify which program might be for you. Now this isn’t an exact science, and it’s always best to review your options with an expert if you’re not sure, but this should hopefully give you some clarity or validation that you’re on the right track.
