What are the pros & cons of traditional publishing? I'm sharing some of the big ones, so if you're considering whether or not to traditionally publish, or are just curious, this is the video for you!
This is not an exhaustive list, and it's not prescriptive, either! The conclusion isn't that traditional publishing is better than self-publishing, but that these are specific pros and cons to bear in mind if you are considering traditional publishing.
One con that is pretty major that I forgot to include: it's definitely a con that the traditional publishing industry is very market & trend driven. This can shut out specific types of books for long periods of time. This is why certain genres simply fit self-publishing much better (and vice versa though--not all genres do well in self-pub!).
