It's been 3 weeks since CTS Container storage was ordered to remove an obstruction on the public footpath through their yard at Ditchford. New signs have been put up but the gate still stands. After ringing the number on the board three times we still had no reply. I even informed them of my passing 7 days prior to this walk. Leaving Rebecca (A local legend and footpath warrior) at the gate, I make way through to have it opened for her to continue her walk into Rushden and beyond. Once in the yard a different security guard to last week approaches. He didn't like my lawful demands and refused us passage. If it wasn't for a late shift change and last week's security guard being on site, we would not have made it through to Ditchford Road. I can't believe he was talking to his colleague the way he was and he most certainly does not have the right to refuse passage.
This footpath is the only direct footpath from Wellingborough to Rushden Lakes and its natural spaces until the Greenway has been made, which could be up to 5years. I would like your help. Come join me for a walk to Ditchford and back. Starting at the blue bridge along the Embankment closest to the A45 warehouses at 10am next Sunday.
