(23 Aug 2019) The French city of Bayonne was preparing for protesters on Friday who are expected to demonstrate against the G7 summit in nearby Biarritz.
Shop owners barricaded their windows with boards and banks sealed cash machines to minimise any damage should the demonstrations turn violent.
Police are also present in large numbers and security checks are being carried out all over the city.
Thousands of demonstrators are expected to hold demonstrations against the G7 in the city of Bayonne, as they are forbidden to protest in Biarritz.
