Prior to fleetwide refurbishment of the London Transport Piccadilly Line 1973 Tube Stock trains the three-car unit No.190 (which comprises cars Nos: 190 - 390 - 590 ) was refurbished in a way that included new car end windows and luggage racks in the central seating bays. It was also repainted in a slightly modified version of corporate livery, this being that the red was a little darker than on the other train fleets.
Each car in unit 190 was finished slightly differently, with changes including different seat layouts, fabric trims and some door standback areas being different sizes.
Because of the installation of a door closing beep alarm the electric circuits for the passenger doors were also modified and to allow a full six-car train to run unit No.123 also received the door circuit modifications.
This video includes footage from Gloucester Road, Chiswick Park and Northfields stations plus the 1990 Morden Depot open day.
