UFCW Local 401's Safeway-Sobeys members are currently attending contract proposal meetings and voting on whether to join the National Defense Fund (NDF). The NDF is a special fund to which workers belong and contribute to support one another in the event of a strike. The Fund unites more than 46,000 UFCW members across Canada and gives them access to more than $37 million in resources.
