I like these older style LED lamps that rely on lots of small LEDs with simple power supplies. They're not only (usually) very reliable, but also completely repairable and hackable to make them into your own customised creation.
This is a classic 100 LED light with warm white straw hat LEDs and a simple capacitive dropper supply to power them.
Keep in mind that this style of light has the LED panel referenced to the mains supply, so don't handle the circuitry while it's powered.
