Bosnian Serb troops are re-arming and strengthening their fronts
against a Moslem-Croat military offensive which has succeeded in
gaining at least 20 percent of land for the last ten days. In the
hills of Mrkonjic Grad, about 20 kms west of Banja Luka, Bosnian
Serb troops are consolidating their position should the battle for
more territory gain pace again. Heavily armed and resolute to
regain territory lost in recent days, Bosnian Serb soldiers patrol
the surrounding forests. Mrkonjic Grad became a ghost town
overnight after Bosnian Serb civilians fled when reports emerged
that the Moslem-Croat offensive was heading their way. They left
the town with their meagre belongings in horse-drawn carts.
