This is a popular and common aarthi song written in 1870 by Pandit Shraddha Ram Phillauri. Aarthi is a Hindu tradition wherein at the end of the pooja, a lamp is kept on a plate and shown to God in circular movements. After showing to God, the lamp is shown to the devotees who hover their hands over the flame and then touch their hands to their eyes.
