Here are four very helpful tips for Loom Knitting. I think these are very useful quick tips for new or even experienced loom knitters. Enjoy!
Update:
Many asked me for a pattern, I did not have one.... but here is how I created the blanket.
I created the blanket on a Serenity Loom and I used 131 pegs.
I used Caron Simply soft yarn and I used two strands at a time to make a nice thick blanket.
I cast on (starting with peg one e-wrap and went right) then knit stitch back - that creates row 1 (knit).
Row 2 Pearl the whole row
Row 3 Knit the whole row
Row 4 Pearl the whole row
Row 5-150 knit ***
Row 151 Pearl the whole row
Row 152 Knit the whole row
Row 153 Pearl the whole row
Row 154 Knit the whole row
Cast off.
***The most important thing to remember is that at the beginning and end of every row you Pearl the first and last 5 pegs on even rows and you knit the whole row on odd rows. I actually wrote in sharpy on my loom. I put E P (for even, Pearl) with an arrow pointing right and O K (for odd, knit) with an arrow pointing left on the opposite end. Other than the first and last 5 pegs, the rest of the row with be done with a knit stitch.
Doing this will keep you blanket from curling on the sides and on the ends.
I changed color about every 22 rows.
Here is an abbreviated sample of how the stitches would go:
