With a trip booked in Oban for the week it was time to see how many islands I could travel to in a few days, first up was Kerrera. The small island sits on the edge of Oban Bay, served by two ferries, a private passenger ferry from the North Pier at Oban to the marina at the north of the island and the one we are on today, Calmac's service between Gallanach on the mainland and Kerrera.
Having arrived at Gallanach the MV Carvoria was on her way across to Gallanach, with a slight swell in the Sound of Kerrera as the MV Carvoria came across and quickly enough she was alongside at the Gallanach slipway before I boarded her and we set off to Kerrera. The crossing takes around 5 minutes, as you will be able to see from the video as the whole return journey is recorded, so it wasn't long before I was deposited on the other side and I made my way for a wander around Kerrera before my ferry back to Oban. Having enjoyed a small amount of time on Kerrera, not nearly enough to experience the whole thing I made my way back onto the MV Carvoria for the sailing back to Gallanach.
Hope you enjoy the video, and thanks for watching!
