Violent Night is a 2022 American Christmas fantasy black comedy action film directed by Tommy Wirkola from an original screenplay written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The film stars David Harbour, John Leguizamo, Cam Gigandet, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Leah Brady, Edi Patterson, and Beverly D'Angelo.
In March 2020, Universal Pictures announced that it acquired the original screenplay to Violent Night by Pat Casey and Josh Miller and that 87North Productions would produce.In November 2021, David Harbour was cast in the lead role, with Tommy Wirkola set to direct. In early 2022, John Leguizamo, Beverly D'Angelo, Alex Hassell, Alexis Louder, Edi Patterson, Cam Gigandet, and André Eriksen were confirmed to star. The shooting of the film took place from January–March 2022, and had commenced by February 2022 in Winnipeg.
Violent Night had its world premiere at the New York Comic Con on October 7, 2022 and is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 2, 2022 by Universal Pictures.
Synopsis :
On Christmas Eve, when a group of mercenaries break into a wealthy family's property and take it hostage, they face an unexpected adversary: Santa Claus is in the house and he's going to show them that good old St. Nicholas has more than one trick up his sleeve.
