The destruction of the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine and its consequential flooding has had major humanitarian implications.
Thousands of people are being evacuated, and many still do not have access to clean water.
Moreover, Ukraine is one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world. The flooding from the dam could displace explosive ordnance to previously cleared areas, posing new risks to already vulnerable communities.
