Join local naturalist Sabrina Hinitz for a virtual introduction to forest bathing. Sabrina will take you on a guided forest bathing walk in Whistler, where she will invite you to experience the natural world around you by using all of your senses.

First, you’ll learn about shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, how it originated as well as how it can benefit your health and happiness. Next, you’ll be invited to participate in a series of exercises that are designed to help you connect and experience the forest around you in a way that will also benefit your mind, body, and soul.

About the facilitator:

After moving from Toronto to Whistler in 2012, Sabrina Hinitz discovered the healing power of nature and became fascinated in the science behind forest bathing, a practice that originated in Japan under the name shinrin-yoku. She completed the Yasei Shinrin-Yoku (Wild Forest Bathing) certification program in British Columbia at the Wildcraft Forest School in February 2019 and founded her newest venture, Forest and Flow, in Whistler shortly after. Sabrina spends most of her time with plants, whether it be in the garden, at home, or out in the forest. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Whistler Naturalists Society and can be found in our local parks during the summer as part of the Whistler Museum’s Discover Nature program.
