There’s an easy and simple formula recommended by American Heart Association called FAST:
• F for droopy face. Whenever you see uneven face that may be a sign of stroke.
• A for arm weakness. Whenever someone has a weakness in one arm that may be a symptom of stroke.
• S for slurred speech. When somebody has speech formulation or comprehension difficulty, that may be a sign of stroke.
• T is simple. Time to call 911.
Any of these symptoms, even in isolation should never be discounted and you need to be seen at the nearest hospital equipped and trained to treat stroke patients.
