The Miami Hurricanes beat the Virginia Tech Hokies 20-14 in Blacksburg behind 351 passing yards and 2 touchdowns from quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. Miami scores their first conference victory and improves to 3-3 on the season. Van Dyke appears to have a new top target. 6-5 transfer wide receiver Colbie Young caught 9 balls for 110 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted 13 times. Young has really stepped up in Miami’s past 2 games and has seized the opportunities from multiple injuries on Miami’s roster.

Host Alex Donno reacts to Miami’s victory, which showcased another excellent performance from defensive end Akheem Mesidor. Mesidor led the team with 8 tackles and grabbed 3 and a half sacks. Linebacker Corey Flagg had another solid game with a sack and 2 tackles for loss. Donno also goes over the self-inflicted wounds from all of Miami’s penalties. The Hurricanes nearly blew a 20-0 lead in this game thanks to 17 penalties for 159 yards.

Miami had been one of the least penalized teams in the nation, so was this performance a fluke? Donno also discusses Miami’s struggles running the football and poor clock management late in the 4th quarter. However, he pleads with Hurricanes fans to be thankful for the victory and patient with this team to correct their new issues.
