As fall sets in, here's a look back at the dawning of what was a great summer in the Northeast.
This was shot on the morning of the summer solstice in 2017. Nubble Lighthouse is located on Nubble Island about 300 feet off Cape Neddick Point in York Maine.
Commonly known as Nubble Light or just The Nubble, it was built at a cost of $15,000 and dedicated by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1879 and is still in use today.
Nubble Light is a famous American icon. The Voyager Spacecraft carries a photo of it along with other famous man made stuctures including the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal in case it should one day be found by intelligent extraterrestrials.
Nubble Light was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Cape Neddick Light Station on April 16, 1985, reference number 85000844 and was featured in the 1949 movie "Lost Boundaries" starring Mel Ferrer.
