I backpacked from the Upper River Road Trailhead and camped at site 3B about 14.7 miles in. The trail was snow covered or ice covered for a good part of the journey, but also would open up and be very pleasant at times as well. The next day I hiked about 7 miles back to the trailhead. The trail conditions were very much the same as the NCT side, some ice, snow and other times very easy hiking, but the views never disappoint! I only fell twice on the slippery terrain! Absolutely love this trail and recommend for great adventures!
