In today’s video we see if it is possible to DIY clean an end of life, ash clogged diesel particulate filter at home, with easy to find chemicals, and in way that won’t damage the stainless steel housing or the silicone carbide DPF ceramic material. This method is only for older types of DPF that don’t have an integrated catalyst (DOC), or for cars where the DPF and catalyst are in separate housings, as the main cleaning chemical used today is not safe for use with catalysts.
