Today I'll show you how to find the hyperlocal distance with your A7iii in about 2 minutes.

There is an easy way to find the hyperlocal distance with your sony camera.

All you need is a camera that has this focal distance number on the back, like the A7iii!

Once you’ve found your composition,

switch to manual focus,

Set your aperture to f11-16,

magnify in on the horizon.

Then focus to the closest point where the horizon is still in focus.

I can get my 25mm to about 4m on this focus scale before the background starts becoming unacceptable. So to be on the safe side, I set it to about 6. Then I know that anything between 1.5m to infinity will be in focus.

So get your favourite landscape lens and try this out. You need to test it at different focus distances, but once you find it, it’s an easily repeatable process.
