Bathing can be done in 3 to times in a week or sometimes it can be done everyday depend on the mood of the baby and if the baby is liking it you can give as and when needed. You can begin with using plain water that is till the time the umbilical; cord falls off, so that can be done with sponge bath or wet cloth bath later once the umbilical cord has fallen off, you can use soap also. You can use baby shampoo and baby soap. Once the umbilical cord has fallen off you can use mild baby soap and mild baby shampoo to clean the hair. The shampoo cab be used once or twice a week the baby can be bathed at any time of the day where the mother is comfortably, preferably better to give it atleast 1 hour of giving the baby’s feed because of the baby is bathed immediately after a feed there is chances that there is a chance that the baby might vomit out. So you can use warm water. So it should neither be too hot or too old, whole cleaning the eyes form the inner portion that is form the nose to the outside. It is advisable to clan the ear. Make sure the water does not enter t he ears. Also do not use cotton use to clean the ears. Take care of the neck portion m the underarms and the skin folds, the thigh folds. The ears are the very sensitive areas where the skin might get damaged and also the dapper areas also. Also be gentle when you are handling these areas and the dapper areas also. Once the bathing is over you can dry the skin and can use moisturizing lotions or a talcum powder depend on the skin sensitivity of your baby.
